Arc of Maui County was established in 1954 by parents and concerned citizens who sought services for their children with developmental disabilities when none were available.

A developmental disability can be cognitive, physical, or both and begins before adulthood.

Its effects are long-term, and it alters essential life functions.

This agency is the shared vision of many dedicated parents, family members, people with disabilities, staff, and advocates from the community and nationwide.
